Our Services for Multilingual DTP and Document Localization
Multilingual DTP, Typesetting & Localization Services
Translation gets your message across. Our services make it look right.
We turn translated content into publication-ready files in 100+ languages, including right-to-left, CJK and Indic scripts. We work with publishers, translation agencies, localization teams and global businesses.
100+ languages · RTL, CJK & Indic scripts · InDesign, Word, PowerPoint & more · Print and digital output
Everything That Happens After Translation
Once the translation is done, the real layout work begins. Text expands or shrinks, scripts change direction, fonts break, and graphics still carry the source language.
Global Digital DTP handles that stage. We rebuild layouts, typeset every language correctly, localize graphics, convert scanned files and check every page before delivery. You get consistent files in every language, ready to print or publish.
Core Services
What We Do

Multilingual DTP
Page layout for translated books, reports, manuals, brochures, presentations and marketing materials. We adapt each layout to its target language so it reads as if it was designed in that language from the start.

Multilingual Typesetting
Accurate typesetting, pagination, spacing and typography for professional publications. We manage fonts, line breaks, hyphenation and text flow for each language.

Localization
Layout, typography, graphics and visual content adapted for each target language and market, so your content works correctly for its audience.

InDesign DTP
Adobe InDesign production for multilingual documents, publications, marketing collateral and complex layouts, working directly in your native INDD or IDML files.

Word & PowerPoint DTP
Layout, tables, text formatting and graphics for translated Microsoft Word and PowerPoint files, with the original structure and design intent preserved.

Book DTP & Typesetting
Book layout, pagination and formatting for publishers, authors and educational organizations, from single titles to multilingual series.

Multilingual Publishing
End-to-end production for multilingual books, journals, magazines, textbooks, and corporate publications, delivered as print-ready files, digital PDFs, or both.

Image & Graphics Localization
Text inside images, charts, infographics, diagrams and ads replaced and re-set in the target language, with the original design preserved.

Multilingual OCR
Scanned documents, image-based PDFs and image files converted into editable, searchable content, ready for DTP production.
Complex Scripts
Specialist DTP for RTL, CJK and Indic Languages
Some writing systems need more than a font swap. Direction, character shaping, line breaking and spacing all behave differently, and mistakes show immediately to native readers.

RTL DTP
Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu and other right-to-left languages, including mirrored layouts, tables and navigation.

CJK DTP
Chinese, Japanese and Korean typography, layout and typesetting, with correct font handling and line-break rules.

Indic DTP
Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and other Indic scripts.

Our Services FAQs
What is the difference between DTP and typesetting?
Typesetting arranges text on the page: fonts, spacing, line breaks and pagination. DTP is the wider process, covering layout, graphics, tables, images and final file preparation. Most projects need both.
Which services do you offer?

Importent
Publishing
Multilingual Publishing, from Source to Final Files
We support the full production run for multilingual books, journals, magazines, textbooks, eBooks, annual reports, catalogs and corporate publications. DTP, typesetting, graphics adaptation and quality checks all sit in one workflow, and we deliver print-ready files, digital PDFs or both.
Explore Multilingual Publishing →
Publishing in more than one language means more than translating a book or report and dropping the text into the old layout. Every language changes the page. Text runs longer or shorter, scripts read in different directions, fonts and line-breaking rules vary, and images, charts and covers often carry source-language text.
We manage that whole stage for you. You send translated content and source files, and we return finished, consistent publications in every language, ready for print or digital release.
Publications We Produce
- Books and textbooks: Single titles, multilingual series and educational materials, with consistent pagination, headings, captions and cross-references.
- Journals and magazines: Recurring issues with fixed templates, so every language edition looks the same.
- eBooks and digital publications: Digital PDFs and reflowable formats prepared for online and device-based reading.
- Annual and corporate reports: Tables, charts, financial data and branded layouts that stay accurate across languages.
- Catalogs and brochures: Product listings, specifications, images and price tables laid out for each market.
- Manuals and guides: Structured documents with numbered steps, callouts and diagrams.
What’s Included in One Workflow
- Layout adaptation: We rebuild pages for each language, adjusting text flow, spacing, tables and page breaks.
- Typesetting and typography: Language-correct fonts, hyphenation, line breaks and spacing, including for RTL, CJK and Indic scripts.
- Graphics and image localization: Text inside charts, infographics, diagrams and covers is replaced and re-set in the target language.
- Scanned content handling: Image-based files are converted with OCR, so older or scanned material can be reused.
- Quality checks: Every page is reviewed for formatting, typography, consistency and missing content before delivery.
- Final file preparation: Fonts, bleeds, color settings and file structure are prepared to your printer’s or platform’s requirements.
Consistency Across Languages and Editions
If you publish the same title in many languages, or release regular issues and updates, we work from one template. Styles, grids, image placement and branding stay uniform across every edition, which reduces rework and makes later updates easier.
Delivered the Way You Need It
You can receive print-ready PDFs, digital PDFs, native files such as InDesign packages, or a combination, depending on how you plan to publish.
Planning a multilingual publication? Send a sample file and your language list, and we’ll show you how we’d handle the layout.
Common Multilingual DTP Challenges and How We Solve Them
Translated content rarely fits the original layout as-is. These are the problems we deal with most often, and how we fix them.
Text expansion and contraction – Languages such as German, French, Spanish and Russian often run longer than English, while Chinese and Japanese usually run shorter. Longer text causes overflow, awkward line breaks and broken tables. We solve it by adjusting leading, tracking, column widths and image sizes, and by rebalancing the layout page by page, without shrinking text below a readable size.
Right-to-left (RTL) layouts – Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu and Farsi need more than flipped text. Page structure, tables, bullets, icons, arrows, progress bars and page order often need to be mirrored. We rebuild the layout for RTL reading and use RTL-capable settings in InDesign so text flows and aligns correctly.
Mixed-direction text – Numbers, brand names, URLs and English terms inside Arabic or Hebrew text can jumble punctuation and reorder words. We check every mixed-direction line and fix punctuation placement, number order and bracket direction.
Complex scripts and shaping – Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Thai and Arabic use conjuncts, ligatures and contextual forms that must render correctly. We use fonts and text engines that shape these scripts properly, then proof the output to make sure no characters are broken, detached or missing.
CJK typesetting rules – Chinese, Japanese and Korean follow their own rules for line breaking, punctuation placement, spacing and vertical text. We apply the correct composition rules for each language, so lines break naturally and punctuation doesn’t land in the wrong position.
Font availability and missing glyphs – A font that works in English often lacks characters for other scripts, which leads to empty boxes or unwanted font substitution. We select fonts with full glyph coverage that match your brand’s look as closely as possible, and we confirm font licensing for your use.
Text in images and graphics – Embedded text in charts, icons, screenshots and infographics can’t be edited easily. We rebuild or replace these elements so every language version is fully localized, not just the body text.
Cultural and visual adaptation – Colours, symbols, gestures, imagery and formats (dates, numbers, units, currency) mean different things in different markets. We flag and adapt anything that could confuse or offend your audience.
Consistency across many languages – When one project covers 10 or more languages, small differences multiply. We use shared styles, templates and checklists so every version stays aligned with your brand and with each other.
What We Need From You
A complete package at the start means faster delivery and fewer questions. Here’s what to send:
- Editable source files: InDesign (INDD, with IDML if possible), Illustrator, Photoshop, FrameMaker, Word or PowerPoint
- Linked assets: all images, graphics and placed files
- Fonts: the fonts used in the original, or the brand font names so we can source suitable alternatives for each script
- Translated text: in Word, Excel, XLIFF or another format your linguists use. If you’d like us to arrange translation, tell us and we’ll coordinate it.
- Reference PDF: a final PDF of the source layout so we match it exactly
- Style guides and brand guidelines: if you have them
- Language list and deadline: including any language-specific requirements, such as regional variants
Missing something? Send what you have and we’ll tell you what we need.
Seamless Workflow for Agencies and Localization Teams
We work as an extension of your localization team, not a separate step in the process.
- Round-trip friendly: We work with IDML and XLIFF workflows so text moves cleanly between your CAT tool and our layouts [confirm tools: e.g., Trados, memoQ, Phrase].
- Translation memory aware: We keep layouts consistent with your approved translations and flag any text that needs a linguist’s review.
- Layout-driven feedback: If translated text doesn’t fit or reads awkwardly in the layout, we flag it with a screenshot and suggested fix rather than silently changing the wording.
- White-label option: We can deliver under your brand and communicate only with your team [confirm availability].
- Confidentiality: We sign NDAs on request and handle your files securely.
No Source Files? We Can Still Help
If you only have a PDF, a scan or a printed copy, we can still deliver editable files.
We recreate layouts in InDesign or your preferred format, matching the original design, fonts and spacing as closely as possible. Scanned or image-based text is converted with OCR and then checked manually, so the result is clean and editable. Once your files are rebuilt, localizing them into any language is straightforward.
This is useful for legacy brochures, old manuals and documents where the original designer or files are no longer available. [Learn more about our OCR services]
Multilingual DTP, Translation and Localization: What’s the Difference?
These services work together, but each one does something different.
| Translation | Localization | Multilingual DTP | |
| Focus | Converting text from one language to another | Adapting content for a specific culture and market | Formatting and designing the final layout in each language |
| What changes | Words | Words, units, dates, tone, imagery and references | Layout, fonts, text direction, spacing and graphics |
| Done by | Linguists | Linguists and cultural consultants | DTP specialists and designers |
| Output | Translated text | Market-ready content | Print-ready and digital-ready files |
Many projects need all three. We specialize in the final stage, where translated content becomes a finished, professional document, and we coordinate with your translation partners or arrange linguists for you. [Explore our Localization services]
Our Revision and Proofing Policy
We want every file approved with confidence, so quality checks and corrections are built into the process.
- Included correction rounds: [Your project includes up to X rounds of layout corrections at no extra charge.] Corrections to layout, formatting and typesetting errors on our side are always free.
- Native-language checks: Before delivery, [native-speaking reviewers / linguists] check each layout for text errors, broken words, punctuation and script-specific issues.
- Clear change tracking: We mark what changed in each round so your reviewers can approve faster.
- Late text changes: If the source text or design changes after approval, we quote the additional work in advance, so there are no surprises.
- Final preflight: Every file is checked for missing fonts, broken links, image resolution and colour settings before it reaches you.
Transparent, Flexible Pricing
Every project is different, so we quote it that way. No hidden fees.
- Hourly: Best for smaller or well-defined tasks. You pay for the time spent on your files.
- Fixed project rate: Best for large or complex work. We review the scope and give you a clear quote upfront.
- Per-word or per-page: Best for translation plus DTP in languages such as German, Chinese and Arabic. Costs are predictable and based on content volume.
We also offer volume pricing for agencies, publishers and localization companies.
